Dragonflying: Shimmering green wings, sparkling statement - unique hand painted Sansa Stark wardrobe chain - Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones character Sansa often wears a dragonfly pendant (l-o-v-e got!) and was inspiration for the pendant.
Dragonflies are a mystical beautiful creature, with delicate wings and strong body. Their wings seem to be filled with light and I have tried to recreate this in the pendant. A multitude of different green tones were used to create an almost stained glass effect on the wings. The background has been gradient painted for a patched effect in holographic sparkly beige, green and violet.
The hand beaded area is a mix of bronze and glass beading, including a Koru to represent my home country of New Zealand. Everything is hand drawn from the back of the glass. The wings and sky were gradient painted over many many hours to achieve the effect.
The clasp and chain are bronze, giving the necklace an earthy feel. Glass size is 1" square (2.5cm). The chain is 30cm, the beaded area about 20cm.
