Toni Ferrer was born in September 1980, in Esplugues de Llobregat, a town close to Barcelona.
He was living in Sant Joan Despi, also near Barcelona, but at age nine his father’s work caused the family to move to the island of Mallorca. It is in this beautiful island bathed by the Mediterranean Sea that Toni has spent most of his life, living in different towns, like Llucmajor, S’Arenal, Selva and the capital, Palma de Mallorca.
Son of Juan María (d. 2008) and Francisca, he is the fourth of six children, Juan, Francisca, Maria del Carmen, Iván, Jordi and himself.
He graduated with a degree in Business from the University of the Balearic Islands and also took higher education courses in Mathematics and Business Administration.
Meticulous, organized to the point of being somewhat obsessive, with a strong personality, sensitive towards every aspect of his life, exhaustively shy at first and an excellent confident with each passing year, as well as an animal lover and defender of injustices, Toni has, in the last two years, begun to build a certain reputation for himself as a budding artist.
With just a few years of experience and thanks to the innovative use of mesh in his work, he was invited to hold an exhibition at the prestigious Sart Gallery in Palma de Mallorca. Unfortunately, due to the gallery’s economic situation, this did not take place.
Before leaving for New Zealand, where his husband was transferred, he held a showroom and sold all his works to date; a resounding success for someone with only two years experience in the world of Art.
Currently t.ferrer is working on four different supports: paper, canvas, wood and porcelain, but keep an eye on his site, other media will soon be available. t.ferrer is always keen to follow his imagination and develop his talent.
He will take part in different group exhibitions in the next months and maybe in a solo exhibition at the end of 2012 or early 2013.

In my own words…
Whenever I'm facing a blank canvas, I don't like to have a plan of what I'm going to paint. I like seeing how each stroke and texture appears while I let my imagination flow, letting it guide my hands. I like to experiment with new shapes and textures, mixing organic elements with man-made synthetic ones.
