Clever and witty idea superbly realised by NZ graphic artist Glenn Jones. Paper planes folded into the shape of the Air New Zealand koru. The simplified and abstract koru form is based on a traditional Maori design that echoes an unfurling fern frond - a symbol of new life often seen on a Marae in the kowhaiwhai pattern carved into a meeting house. In this print Jones’ paper planes are floating in deep three dimensional space, it’s a graphic demonstration of how digital printmakers can use these new printmaking tools to make prints that are quite unlike what you have seen before...
