A magnificent gargoyle, in antiqued-gold coloured metal, hangs from a chain of deep, matte black and shiny gold plate.
The gargoyle looks something like a winged lion with a long, sweeping tail. It has been hand patinated by another artisan using a special mix of chemicals, and I then sealed the pendant with clear varnish to preserve the new finish.
The chain is a brass based, matte black, rolo-style chain, while the contrasting extension chain is also brass based, but plated with gold, and in a curb style. In keeping with the contrasting colour scheme, the gargoyle is hung from the chain by means of two interlocking rings: one gold plated, one matte black. The necklace fastens with a high quality, gold-plated clasp with a protective coating to keep it looking new and shiny for a long time. The necklace is finished with a little, antiqued-gold coloured, angel wing charm.
The 'Golden Gargoyle' necklace measures 50.2cm, including the lobster-claw clasp and the extension chain, which is 5cm long. The gargoyle pendant measures 48mm lengthwise (including the little hanging loop at its top), and 22mm across at its widest point.
