This beautiful bentwood ring is made from beautiful Rimu wood, recycled and reclaimed from homes destroyed by the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes in Christchurch, New Zealand. It is framed with a super strong titanium core with a brushed, matt finish.
Rimu, or red pine, is a gorgeous honey coloured Native timber from the temperate sub-alpine forests of New Zealand. It is prized for its strength, beauty and versatility and long considered one of the finest timbers in New Zealand. It is a towering tree, reaching over 50 metres at maturity, and a member of a family of ancient podocarps - with a lineage going back millions of years.
My Bentwood Rings are individually hand made, cut from piece of Rimu flooring and wall lining then sanded, soaked and formed. They are strong, durable and yet lightweight pieces of art to adorn your finger or that of your loved one.
They make ideal environmentally sustainable wedding rings, eternity rings or rings to take travelling while you leave your expensive, sentimental rings at home. Wood is also the material of a 5th Wedding Anniversary, and these stunning rings are an perfect gift to celebrate a half decade together.
This listing is for 1 ring only. I have discounted rates for a pair of rings. Please see my other listings for pairs or contact me for customisation.
**SIZING** This ring measures 10mm wide. The ring can be made in full or half sizes. I use the American Ring sizing system usually ranging from approximately Size 4 to Size 13. If you don't know your ring size, please visit a jeweller to get the correct size as rings cannot be returned if the wrong size is provided in the order.
**CARE** Rings are very hard wearing. They can be immersed in water and will stand up to the usual rigors of life. They are very strong and won't bend or break in normal day to day use. I do recommend that you treat them with care and not expose them to chemicals or solvents which can damage the rings.
